What car is this - again!

Here is a photo I took of a car at a gathering in France. It's RHD, no floors, parts missing but in the main all there. Now I know how you folks like a challenge, and I found the manufacturer's brass plate on the chassis so I know. And I'd never heard of it. So it's just a bit of fun and a challenge for you all

I didn't use GSBI - I've come across that marque before. The shape of the radiator and the badge suggested it to me, and then a Google Image search confirmed it. I believe it was considered a fairly upmarket small car at the time.

Never heard of this builder before but back in the day I think many people were having a go at car building. This car does look like a nice pro’ build though.

Ask Wikipedia for a list of former car makers in France, and you'll find 100s and 100s. Some lasted one year, others as long as the Depression or WW2.

The company is listed in Georgano’s complete encyclopaedia of motor cars 1885- 1968. It manufactured high quality cars of 10cv from 1919 to 1924 having initially made aircraft components and building Bugatti aero engines under licence at a factory in Gennevilliers, Seine.

Indeed, and we also had around 350 builders at one time i believe. From one man in a shed through to Austin and morris.

I believe, from memory, that there were about 27 car making firms in Coventry alone in the 20s.
