My future BiL drove my wife and her dad to the wedding in it, I drove me and my wife to the reception then next day we set off on our honeymoon. (Glasgow, then Skye) loved every single minute and it was nice to do it in our own car. I miss that car.

AFAIK it was a 550bhp converted to real wheel drive so quite the handful.

Know how that feels - on the morning of the first wedding I ever did with the Alfa, it refused to start. It had never once failed to start in the 2 years of ownership up to that point - talk about picking your moment!Anyway.... much plug cleaning and general tinkering and finally, with the aid of a tow start, it came to life - with hindsight probably just flooded. Needless to say it started on the button the day after and has been fine ever since.....

I have wedding cover on my policy. Costs about £70 pa extra over the standard provision. You don’t need any other licenses either, which you would do for prom nights, or other types of private hire.
I used to do some wedding and special occasions driving work for one of our customers . He had a Bentley Mullsanne , later a Turbo version , Rover P5 , Jag XJ6 308 and a Jag E type 2+2 .
I did 20-30 jobs over 5 years for him and all were very pleasant occasions except for one .
When the Bride and Groom are slagging their guests off on the ride from the church to the reception it gives a very good idea as to what type of people they really were . It was also the only job that I didn't recieve a tip .
