There are many kit cars and look alike out there so without more details like a picture or reg it's hard to say if it was genuine

Yeah, I do think it wasnt a real one, but as I only caught a glimpse of it going the opposite way......

Still a nice surprise on a dull day mind.

I've seen one parked in a public car park in Milton Keynes once or twice, so that fits geographically. Looked quite "used" (in a good way).

Many years ago Ian Richardson had one in the window of his workshop in Ampthill.
I haven't been up that way for many years so not sure if he is still about .

Probably a real one - there's a lot of Gulf links in Apsley and Kings Langley wink

The Ickx/Oliver car is probably the most copied car in the world. This one is definitely not an original. I've never seen a picture of a genuine JWA Gulf GT40 with number plates on, though at least one was in private ownership in the USA, so it may have been used on the road over there.

We can safely say the ones referred to in this thread are replicas.

Spotted one on NC500 couple of years back, no idea if genuine or not, looked very nice though.

That's the 2005 Ford GT, a different thing entirely. Nice, but I find the Gulf thing a bit overdone these days.
