But at the moment there are only 2 cars starting from Glasgow as far as I can tell, so not really worth hanging about at the side of the road to watch them pass!

Oh dear only 2 is a surprise. I remember seeing quite a few heading down the A1 for this event a few years ago.But at the moment there are only 2 cars starting from Glasgow as far as I can tell, so not really worth hanging about at the side of the road to watch them pass!
Any idea how many will be setting off from Banbury?
There are two events, the MC Historique and the Classique, running concurrently. Here's the Classique entry:

Taking place this week is the mainly Dutch-organised Winter Trial, which started from Prague at the weekend. So it's kind of busy in the classic rallying world at the moment. Re the Monte Carlo and Glasgow, I've been looking at some of the entries from the late fifties, early sixties, and there seemed to be maybe 50 or 60 starters from Glasgow. It was all a wonderful bit of fun, drive down to Monte in the snow. One year, they included Vanwall driver Tony Brooks in a London taxi! One story has it that he had to retire because he was getting all the publicity...
