Rolltops were standard fitment on "pre Custom" MK2 RS2000s ,the 76-78 cars.
Everyone refers to the later seats as Fishnet or possibly tennis racquet .
There was no "Custom"/"Base" option on early ones - my 77 had the roll-tops and RS wheels but I think later models had roll-tops and Rostyle steel wheels. So most people bought the Custom!Everyone refers to the later seats as Fishnet or possibly tennis racquet .

Yep, and I always thought that the 76-78 'rolltop' RS seats were not made by Recaro either?
I'm not 100% sure, but I doubt if they were. They definitely weren't badged "Recaro", but I thought they were pretty good seats. Wacky Racer said:

Going rate, not bad in fact for a pair.
For a Capri or RS? As they’re different
Capri ones were covered in vinyl and RS ones were rubbery
Thanks, I found a pair whilst in my garage, were definately from a capri and now know they're name so will go in my pile of bits to sell after lockdown. For a Capri or RS? As they’re different

That 3 Litre S sales invoice is fascinating reading. My first S, a T reg red one, had the Recaros and the advert said “ sunroof “ and so the seller on the phone, but imagine my horror driving all the way to Surrey, to see that it had a full width glass monstrosity......
I hated that car, such a Huge disappointment after 4 x MK1 3 Litre Capris.

A set of number plates costing more than a tank of fuel seems odd you could buy them for that now!I looked at the number plate in the tax check dvla site. It lasted till 1991 so not too bad of the time.

Fishnet Recaro's. Nice seats..

As well as the RS2000 they came as standard in the Harrier.
They were also available as an option in the Mk5 Cortina GLS, friend of mine had the interior from one of those in his 1.6l, they were really nice in that grey velour.

Was that velour called Chatsworth in the Ford brochure? Really like. As well as the RS2000 they came as standard in the Harrier.
