Can you identify these old cars?

My dad just sent me these, he was wondering if I could identify the cars but I’m useless with any pre 70s.
My grandad in this would be over 100 now if he was alive.
My dad is 85 now & a young boy in that picture.
I guess they were taken around a similar time & probably both around the Tilehurst, Reading area.
Can anyone put a name & or make to the cars?

.Many thanks, my dad though the second one was likely to be an Austin of some type. He has another picture of a 4 window car (he had actually assumed was the same car till looking again!) he thought that was an Austin. He said his first car was An Austin Cambridge so it was obviously a popular make in the family. He would date the picture of the Austin as 1937 going from he & his brothers ages. It was still a very new car in the picture then.
He guessed the first picture is mid to late 30s. It’s his uncle Harry in drivers seat so assumes it’s his car. He said he was a lot more adventurous than my grandad so a hot rod is an interesting possibility!
My dad never really got into cars, he said there were never any to mess about with just after WW2, though he did help his older brother quite a bit with his three wheeler. I think it more a case of where there’s a will theres a way. They both had kids very young so that doesn’t help playing with cars!
Its lucky there are any photos at all, my grandad remarried after my gran passed away & his new wife made my grandad burn anything there was relating to her!

From your story you are very fortunate that the photos have survived. Slight correction, the Austin 12 of that date was the Ascot (I thought it was only the later more sloping one) The Lichfield was actually a 10 and with four windows so that might have been the car your dad was referring to.
