Lotus Elan DHC / 1967 London Street Scenes

Found this superb bit of film last night. Absolutely Love this shot of a very lucky guy and a hot chick, in what looks to be a near new Elan S.3 model think.
Note the black rims, black bumpers and the unusual colour of this Elan. It is very similar to Safron a 1971/72 Triumph TR-6 etc colour, but darker.
No trace of the plate ( a Buckinghamshire issue ) sadly.

Yeah a fantastic moment in time if you had money to burn spent shopping for the latest fashion and posing in your new flash Lotus Elan or E-Type around Carnaby St, whereas for the rest of the country it was like being in a different country. My dad remembers the 60s as it was his favourite period growing up in his 20s. He loved the early part of the 60s when we still had good music pre Beatles, but he never liked the late 60s as he used to say that things went downhill from thenon.

In that case it sounds like you dad loved the 50s, which, in cultural terms, continued until approx 1964. The 60s bit of the 60s didn't really get going until the Beatles. The late 60s were a flowering of culture of many kinds, and a period of political and social progress. PS: I was born in 1962 - I can just about remember snatches of 1966, but my main 60s memories are about Apollo 11.

Nowt wrong with Hollywood but I always found Mayfair ticked the 'box' for me and much closer to home especially if you could secure the PenthouseI will drop the question mark in my response, stick my neck out and declare that it is in fact Bahama Yellow unless anyone wishes to suggest an alternative?
The only other possibility is Burnt Sand but I think that may only have been available on the later Plus 2 and it's more of a beige whereas that S3 is definately a shade of orange.
It's interesting to ponder who they are, what they did with their lives and whether they remain extant.

The hot chick, now in her 70s lives in Spain and has a "Karen" haircut. He never got over the divorce, but loves his MGF he got for his retirement and often drives to the pub for a proper sunday lunch...
