Spotted Classics on my Journey Today
Discussion
On my route to the north-west this morning I noticed several classics.
A white 105e, in racing spec, on a trailer northbound on the M5 around Gloucester. A mustard colour TR6, with the driver not sparing the horses, overtook me near Tewkesbury. A brown Triumph 2000, sedately heading north on the M5 around Worcester. Heading southbound, on a transporter near Birmingham, a complete but in need of restoration looking Facel Vega. Good to see them out in the sunshine.

The Facel Vega wasn’t this one by any chance?

Would likely be on the move to it’s new home this week after the auction.

Yes, I think you are right. Someone will be spending a few quid on it then!https://www.silverstoneauctions.com/events/2020-au...

The Facel sold at Silverstone Auctions for £63k, which was a pretty good price. It had been restored, but then suffered fire damage when a paint shop next to where it was being stored caught fire. The damage is a bit random; from the front it looks pretty bad and there are places where it is damaged on the roof and I think the boot. But it does actually run, so wouldn't - in theory - need a full restore. But someone estimated a further £60k, so good luck to the new owner. Thanks for telling us which direction it was headed.
