Can anyone offer any info whether the WW2 NAAFI wagons were placed on just one chassis or various trucks? Id also be interested to know if the wagons continued after the war or quickly got dropped.

Not an expert, but:

The vast majority seem to have been built on Austin K2s (which are the only ones that seem to have survived in preservation) but there were some built on Fordson chassis (smaller than the Austin) and the Bedford OY (bigger). I wouldn't be surprised if there were others.

Yes, Fordson 7V were indeed used, as seen here in NW Europe in late '44.

I suspect that the reason that the Austin K2 versions have been the only survivors is that these were most likely the only type used here on the home front, and thus survived here in UK. I suspect other types were used in operational theatres in Europe and elsewhere, and thus got left there and not shipped back to UK, and were converted to other uses locally post war, before ending up scrapped.

There is, of course, a NAAFI wagon which operates in the Goodwood paddock even now. I'm not sure if it's an original vehicle or not, but you might be able to tell by Googling Goodwood NAAFI. There are certainly pics on the second page.

From memory the NAAFI truck at Goodwood is called Cadillac Café, so maybe that is a clue. No idea personally.
