As I moved houses I sent off my V5 with the relevant details to the DVLA but when they sent it back they have omitted the engine no and chassis no from the V5 and I would not have minded if it was a shed but as its a classic I would really need that bit of info

has this happened to anyone in here?

They don’t know their left arm from their right. Just send it back with a covering letter re the missing numbers.

And staple the covering letter to the faulty V5.

I once sent a V5 in - I'd sold the car, but the buyer backed out, and we'd already filled in the new keeper section, so I wanted a replacement. Sent in V5 and covering letter, would-be new owner phoned a couple of weeks later asking why he'd received a V5 in his name. Letter had come adrift from the V5, by the sound of it, and they'd just processed the change of keeper.

I've had a V5 returned with incorrect information once. Also had a V5 with historical inaccuracies. On both occasions the DVLC have corrected them without question.

A covering letter should do the trick.
