Purely for PHer viewing pleasure, here is a lovely (and seemingly regularly used) wagon, I discovered this in Clifton, Bristol, last week.

By comparison here is another rare but far more modern green E class wagon. What do we make of the transition between this classic form and the newer, but still not that new, shape.

Quite the W123 is a true classic icon, built to unsurpassed standards. The W212 will only ever be iconic as an example of how far DB’s standards have fallen.

Love them both in their (very) different ways - super rare E500 in that colour. If I wanted a combination classic and everyday vehicle I’d have a 7 seat 123 without hesitation.

I searched for ages to find a green one, but unsuccessful. This is my daily driver too though.

The advert you’re looking for is no longer available. But we’ve found some similar vehicles for sale that match your search criteria.
It was a 212 when I looked at it the other day, now the ad has gone and AutoTrader are showing a 211 as an alternative.

The 212 is a big improvement on the quality of the 210, which would rust while you watched. I didn't enjoy driving the 211 so can't comment on the ownership experience. The 212 hangs together much better than the 210, the only thing that seems to have got worse are the seats and the automatic rain sensor for the windscreen wipers, oh and the wipers too come to think of it.

I quite like the 212 as a daily driver but that S123 is really lovely, I don't suppose the owner would want to swap

I wonder what colour that is? This is Forest Green - is it the same?

My dad had a pov spec 200 saloon from new. 1981 SPR892X, classic white, blue cloth, 4 speed manual, keep fit windows. It was such a majestic car, clear to me even as an 11 year old when dad brought it home. It was high end Granada money but the neighbours thought we'd won the lottery, such was the cachet of the Mercedes back then.

I could pack a whole lottery garage with Mercs from the 80s.

Neither are particularly good looking for me. The older one has a style about it though.
