Does anybody have any knowledge of C.H "Happy" Wood who worked for Aston Martin and raced Aston Martin and other brands in the 1930's. Any information gratefully received, and I'm very keen to know his full name! Cheers

You are not doing my cred any good as I am notoriously uninterested in pre-War cars. But... he was called 'Happy' not because he was very rich (he was) but because he was a bit of a misery. The standard book on pre-war Astons by Inman Hunter and Alan Archer finds this so amusing it does not (on a quick scan through) ever name him. He was service manager at Feltham as he just liked cars and later invested some money in Aston.

Get ye to Amazon and buy 'Aston Martin, 1913-1947 Hardcover – 27 Aug. 1992 by Inman Hunter (Author), Alan Archer (Author), Edward Inman-Hunter (Author)'. I see it is expensive, try eBay.

Andy Bell and Robert Blakemore will probably know at Ecurie Bertelli.

And join the AMHT!

Steve, apologies for ruining your street cred but I'm very grateful for your time and the information!
This chap was quite a character and raced at Spa and Brooklands but nobody knows his full name!
Cheers

‘H’ might well be Harcourt. ‘C’ could be Charles. Try Googling that.
