Hello All,

I am trying to establish a date that I visited the NEC Motorshow in the mid 1980's

I remember there was a red Lamborghini Countach on the Alpine Sterios stand.

I think the year was either 1985 or 1986 did anyone else attend the show and remember the Alpine stand?

This information will be very much appreciated,

Thank you

It’ll probably be 1986, as Lamborghini used a red Countach for the 1986 Earls Court motor show. The Countach is now owned by Harry Metcalfe.

I was a big Lambo fan as a kid and remember seeing a Countach on the Alpine stand. I took home the range brochure because it had a Countach on the cover. It would have been 85 or 86. Still have the show guides somewhere at my parents house, possibly even the Alpine booklet.

I loved going to the motor show in those days, my Dad was in the Met and a flash of his warrant card to security got us in free and gained us access to the Ferrari stand.

I well remember Alpine using a Countach for their advertising in the mid 80s. I had a Capri 3 Litre S, but went for a superb Sansui stereo ( which was pinched two weeks later )

I also recall one or more of the monthly mags, running Alpine adverts with the Countach.

the car on the alpine stand at the NEC was an LP5000s not a Quatrovalvole, so dont think it was this one.

Thanks to everyone who replied,

I looked through some old photograph albums as I remember taking photos on the day of the NEC

I have attached the photos of the Red Countach, I now know it was 1986 as fortunatly the photos are date stamped.

I think it was November 1986

Does anyone know how many righthand drive Black Lamborghini Jalpas came into the UK?

Also does "Car" Magazine have an archive from the 1970's one can access?
