The colours look wrong to me, or is that just because it is a long time since I've seen the TV programme?
That colour is correct, it just looks darker on the TV screen and to keep the price of the toys down most were black with the red stripe.Edited by pozi on Wednesday 23 December 10:49

Guns were all s

Thousands of shots just missed.
If this was one of America's "A" teams, how cr4p must the "B" teams have been?

TBF, on very rare occasions, people did get shot, but it was only ever a non-fatal wound.
Despite firing thousands of rounds of ammo and launching grenades at people, hundreds of car crashes, and buildings collapsing, nobody ever died on the A-Team! [Despite that, the TV companies were still unhappy about the violence in the series!).
It was worth watching for Howling Mad Murdoch alone though - The crazy helicopter Captain was just fabulous! (Apparently the TV company wanted to drop the character, but viewer feedback rated him as the most popular character)
It's funny watching re-runs of these 70's/80's TV favourites, such as Starsky and Hutch, Magnum PI, The A-Team, Knight Rider, CHiPs, The Dukes of Hazard etc., etc., etc., because now I'm older, I spot a lot of continuity errors, and repeated footage, that as a kid, was never noticed.
It's things such as stunt vehicles that weren't quite the same make/model as the main car (a Ford Econoline van was often used to replace the GMC Vandura in The A-Team for stunts for example), the General Lee heading towards a jump with a front push-bar fitted, loosing the push-bar in mid-air, landing heavy on the nose (bending the frame rails and front wings/fenders in the process), and driving off with no damage, and the Push-bar in place again.
Here's a drinking game for you based on the CHiPs TV series:
Take a shot of Vodka/Rum/Tequila/Whiskey or whatever, every time you see a silver Honda Accord in the background.
And take two shots of Vodka/Rum/Tequila/Whiskey or whatever, every time you see the Honda Accord that was in the back ground, suddenly being overtaken by the Police bikes/car that it was previously behind.
(There will be very few episodes where you stay sober! -And do not try it whilst watching back to back episodes!)
The CHiPs TV series is being shown on Forces TV at the moment, and it's a great game spotting the cars in the background being used over and over again for different scenes, and to make it look like there were more cars around than there actually were.
I believe there was one death in The A-Team.. didn't the original colonel who was chasing them get killed off?
Apart from that, it was a standing joke that noone ever died in it. I remember a helicopter flying straight into a cliff face, and the crumpled wreckage then dropping straight down maybe 30 - 40 metres on to a beach, at which point the two occupants staggered out nursing their headaches...
Even as a kid it was too much for me to believe at the time and it wasn't a show I watched regularly. When it was on TV recently I watched a few episodes out of nostalgia, thought it would be a good laugh, but no, I think I got it right the first time around
Airwolf on the other hand... I can now see all the reused footage and plot holes in that but it's still awesome just because that helicopter looked so damned good! And that theme tune..

Anyway, wasn't that the whole point of the show, they weren't actually supposed to hit anyone?

Two-tone didn't look right to me either, but that's probably because I've seen so many 'repllicas' which are all black that I've come to think of the original as black too.The one in the ad was a publicity prop so looked the part but probably has a stock asthmatic 90 bhp iron block from the 50's. For the real deal you need to install some monster flame spitting 7lt with sidepipes and burn out at every traffic light.
For car related viewing in the 80's, it would have been the Dukes of Hazzard top of the list for me but I can't think why
