This day in 1961 the world of motoring was changed forever. At the Salon de Genève, a crate was lifted and the E-type was shown to the world for the very first time. Both the car - and the persian rug! - still exist

They are supposed to
That oil isn't being just randomly dripped for no reason you know
It's being liberally sprayed all over the underside of the car to reduce the tin worm problems.

Yes I’ve always referred to oil leaks as part of the anti corrosion system
