I have very fond memories of the classic show he organised at his family seat about 20 years ago.

I think it only happened once because of the logistical issues regarding the small ferries that had to bring everything to the island.

I might be wrong but the Honda F1 team ran some demo runs with a young Jenson Button.

I will try and dig out some photos.

It was actually run twice, in 2002 and 2003. I attended in 2003 and enjoyed seeing the Ecurie Ecosse D types do a run as well as Tacuma Sato in a contemporary BAR. He wasn’t hanging about giving it plenty on a wet track with no traction control.

Bloody hell frown

It doesn’t seem five years since he had his bum in a Lotus seat. What a depressing years it’s been.

62 years old? That’s tragic and far too young.

That's very sad. Quite a young age, and a very decent racing driver...

Just listened to the "F1 beyond the grid" podcast ft Johnny Dumfries. He sounded utterly charming, warm and humble and speaks so passionately about his love of speed and racing. A great listen and to hear he's gone is really saddening.. Clearly one of life's good'uns.. RIP.
