Drive-It Day 2021
Discussion
Drive-It Day 2021 is inly three weeks away.
It usually includes socials and meetings to raise money for the sponsored charity, but not this year.
This year's charity is the NSPCC's ChildLine: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/driveitday-...
So what are you doing to raise some cash?
I'm driving my (road-legal but not road-civilised) race car around my area, and asking friends and neighbours for at least 10p/mile.

My plan was (but not sure if I can do it due to heavy steering and stitches in my shoulder that need to recover) to post on here a section of decent non dual A road and see if we could get a few people to drive along it in given hour period - it's easy to go out and never see another classic but if we concentrated people into an area, there would be a good chance of seeing other cars, even if we can't meet up we can wave/flash on the way past.
What does anyone else think? I can start a Wiki if you're interested and then people pick a road in their area.

Without the usual pre-arranged events, what did everyone get up to?
I went for a tour of the Cotswolds, trying to avoid the busy places but still take in the scenery. Plenty of other people seemed to have the same idea. For a while I followed an Alfa Spider, Healey 3000 and Triumph TR3 between Burford and Stow and then came across an XK120 and another Alfa on a single track road near Broadway.
I was surprised to find I had covered 130 miles by the time I arrived back home.

Lovely car, and a lovely part of the world for driving it around too. Tks for posting.
I am not the biggest Ferrari fan (what do you mean, it's because I can't afford one, how very dare you!) but I do like a nice Dino/308/328. (At least I hope/think that's what it is!). Really very good looking cars.

Thanks dontlookdown. It's a 328, so you are spot on.I am not the biggest Ferrari fan (what do you mean, it's because I can't afford one, how very dare you!) but I do like a nice Dino/308/328. (At least I hope/think that's what it is!). Really very good looking cars.
I'm not quite sure about some Ferraris either! However, I love my car for the way it looks, the way it does things and the driving experience it provides. It is completely analogue with no driver aids and is a great antidote to modern cars!
Quite a few cars and bikes gathered at South Mimms Services on the M25 / A 1 M.

I got up early on Sunday morning and did around 50 miles around the Essex lanes over to Felstead, Stanstead, Braintree, back cross country to Boreham and then home. Saw 1 other classic, a Moggy and we waved excitedly to each other. Lovely morning for a drive and very little on the road at that time of the morning.
