Hi all,

I'd like to refurbish the steering wheel on my 1967 Reliant Scimitar GT Coupe.

Just two spokes - originally chromed, I think, but pitted now with previous attempts to 'respray'.

Leather rim also past its best.

Can anyone recommend a good restorer?

I'm based in Oxfordshire...

Hard to see from the photos, but that looks to be a very early “ small Boss “ ( the nicest rim they ever made ) Mota Lita wheel.

Have you asked the RSSOC for any suggestions?
You do now need to join to access the forums but it's an active forum unlike some one make ones.

ETA A quick visit suggests you might have had a few discussions recently on steering wheels! smile

I vaguely recall that Moto-Lita do a reconditioning service. It's not listed on their website but worth a call.

There was a steering wheel restorer on Salvage Hunters - Classic Cars, but I can't find my note of who it was.

Around 20 years ago there was a specialist in Morecambe. It wasn't the tidiest of places but they made a fantastic job of my Elan steering wheel. They used to have a regular ad in one of the Classic Car newspaper publications. I can't remember the name,( maybe had Lancaster in the name?) it may no longer be there.
