Did anyone else go ?
I enjoyed seeing some nice cars up close but I'm not a buyer at present. I treat the day more like a car show, the 1950 Chrysler was fantastic !

Also I don't really follow the sales and prices to closely on the day, just wondering if they did well ?

Some of the Historic results are on line, if you register with them (at no charge) you can see a full list of results.

I watched on the net, it's a very nervous market for sure. A lot of the high-end stuff didn't sell and many other cars reached bids that were clearly below reserve but were marked as "provisionally sold" with the bids being referred back to vendors for consideration.

I got a follow up e mail on the evening of the sale (from Historics) stating they had enjoyed a sell rate of 70% on the day. Fords continue to rule the day with an XR3i hammering at £11,093 whilst a (presumably) non-AVO shelled Escort Mk1 "Twin Cam tribute" made the best part of £20K...

I was looking at a rather lovely late Yugoslavian-built left-hooker Renault 4 for use as a holiday car but £9,056 (before commission) felt a bit painful.

On the other hand the Vegantune Evante (think baby Elan) at under £12K seemed well bought.

So, a lot of the top end stuff failed to find new owners.

However the days of the cheap-as-chips DB7 or XJS are numbered, perhaps add the TR7 to that list as well...

The Jags actually did OK... good to see the XJ12 starting to get proper money... Surprised the manual V12 456 didn't sell, even at the lower estimate...
