I'm looking for some help with the refurbishment of my hub caps. I've looked at the SL shop and the refurbishment replacement price is almost £1,200 which seems rather high. I've tried ebay but couldn't see any suitable for sale. I then contacted a chrome specialist in my area but he said he's tried chroming a set before that didn't work very well. Was looking to spend about a £100 per hub cap on repair which would be in line with alloy repairs. I'm really just wanting to try and get the scuff marks off & polish them up. Any ideas what I could use?

In France, but this might be worth a punt:-

ETA:- There are quite a lot on Ebay France, but most are worse than yours sadly. I'll see what I can find elsewhere.

Thanks for the leads, I will send an email with a picture of the hub caps and see what they say.
Do you think £1200 is high for refurb and give mine as trade in with the SL shop or is that the going rate?

I suppose that the answer is supply and demand. I think it extortionate, but if they are the only ones then that is the price, take it or leave it. If you can't live with the old one's it's Hobson's choice.

ETA I've found a specialist garage north of Paris dealing in the older Mercedes and I'm going to send them an email. Not being that knowledgeable I see there are different sizes of hub caps. Which car is it for please so I can be specific.
