Syon park classic show

First car show in 18 odd months and how I have missed it.... Anyone else go? Had a great day there on Friday, saw so many lovely motors and met so many lovely people, particular note worthy mention was Pat with her 1920’s Lancia Lambda Torpedo. What an incredible lady, had the car I think 48 years and was such a pleasure to spend time with and hear about the history and love of her car. I’ve now got the urge to own a vintage motor..... wish I placed a bid on the GAMA or HPE volumex..... the Trevi took me back..... anyone know what they fetched? Some real great car clubs there as well, had a great chat with the guys from the Afro Classic car club, just need to grow a fro now!

Was Pat the one with the navy blue Lancia, as can be seen at the 10 min mark?:Very nice, especially interesting to hear that she owned it for 48 years!
My favourite of the day was the Bentley R Type Petersen 6.5 Litre Supercharged Road Racer . Wonderful!

I was there all three days with the Jaguar Drivers Club. Decent event. Not as busy as expected though especially on Sunday
Maybe the weather forecast put people off on Sunday as it wasn't looking good, though it did stay dry to the end. It must have been sold out though as I couldn't get a ticket for Sunday.Chicken_Satay said:

Pretty sure they were still selling them on the gate when I went in. It was reasonably quiet, and the organisation of the parade was poor with rude staff. Nice to chat to people again, but very glad I didn't buy premium tickets.Chicken_Satay said:

On Thursday the weather was forecast to be bad all weekend but it didn’t materialise thankfully until the pack up time on Sunday when it poured down. I don’t think the location helped. If you didn’t drive it was a pain in the backside to get to on public transport.
Chicken Satay Yes that was Pat, what a wonderful Lady...
Craig, I was one of the first visitors to the JDC stand, spoke again to another lovely Lady who introduced me to Michael Ballard. I joined the club there at the show.
I enjoyed the day, really looking forward to the festival now...

Went Friday with three friends, good to be out & about again: quite an eclectic mix of cars, which made it worth the trip. In particular, the Monteverdi 375 caught my eye & the blue F40 was good to see. I think the ticket limited on Friday, so the lack of a crush, with just the odd queue at the vendors was a refreshing change. Downsides, didn't really think another £10 to get into the Classic Cars auction area was worth the effort, since the catalogue was online anyway.

Really enjoyed this event, great variety of cars, Monteverdi 375L High Speed was probably the one I'd most liked to have taken home but Blue Ghibli ran it close. Great selection of Classic Masaerti's: 2 Ghiblis, 2 Boras stunning Sebring and Indy.

Citroen Bijou, a first for me:

Have to mention the TR stand, great display of five cars showing how the TR3 evolved into the TR4. And, of course I have to give another mention to Pat, spoke to her for around 15 mins about the group of 7 Lancia Lambdas, incredible knowledge of the model. She'd owned he blue one for 43 years and had, had two others prior to that.
