Anybody done this?

I've been offered some free tickets from someone that can no longer attend.

I'm not really a Morgan fan but thought it might be interesting.

You'll love it.

Have done four or five of them since the mid 70's and bought two new Morgans as a result.

The craftsmanship is superb.

I went on one which was a PH Sunday Service event around, I think, six years ago.

It was a wonderful experience seeing the level of craftsmanship that goes into the build process.

You don't have to be a Morgan fan to appreciate, and enjoy, it.

I did a tour just before lockdown, fascinating and enjoyable. Don't miss it.

Worth a visit.

Having owned Morgans I'm not sure I'd agree about the "craftsmanship" wink

It’s brilliant. If you don’t want the tickets, let me know and I’d be happy to bung some money to charity for them.

If you want to make a day of it, worth hiring one of their cars too. I’ve raced all sorts of stuff and driving even a less powerful Morgan makes me smile.

Don't think it was the proper tour, but went round factory on a PH SS, I enjoyed it.

I`m not a Morgan car fan, but I found the guided tour absolutely fascinating, loved it. My wife, who is not a petrol head, thought it interesting and enjoyed herself.
Its in a lovely area, we stayed in Worcester and made a long w/end of it.

That’s my old mate Bill there giving the tour. I believe he has had the same 3 wheeled Morgan since he was 18. When he retired from an unrelated career where we worked together he got a job doing the tours. I live 100 meters from the factory and it’s well worth a visit. The new showrooms are impressive too.

They still use most of the original buildings. The above photo must be about 100 years old?

The jigs and procedures to assemble the ash frames have not changed since the 60`s.

Mind you, under the bonnet of the top model is a state of the art BMW V8.

That doesn't look like a Club 18-30 tour wink

I've done it several times but presume it's changed a little recently, ie. less woodworking, now that they're all CX-series chassis, and no more 3-wheelers?

The CX cars still have wood frames for the bodywork I believe.

Did the tour last week. Very good, well run and interesting.

Still the same amount of woodwork, the wood is used to mount the body to the chassis, they've always had fully metal chassis. The main difference with the new cars is that the front wings are pressed offsite in aluminium so there's less metalwork done onsite. New chassis is bonded aluminium vs steel in the old cars. You can tell there's been a huge step up in quality from the old cars to the Aero cars and again to the new Plus 4 and 6.

Here's the Morgan I bought after being impressed by a tour in 2005

I also owned an Ivory Plus 8 back in 1978, which I sold for £4250....smile

Many thanks for all the positive replies on this

The vouchers from my mate arrived this morning so I've already booked the tour for this coming Friday and I'm really looking forward to it
