Help wanted - old vehicle badge?

I have a what I think is an old vehicle badge (it was amongst my late father's stuff), made in metal, and cannot identify it - picture attached.

Can anyone help help me identify what it was from?

Many thanks charliealphamike & craigjm. That makes total sense. It's what my folks had when we were growing up. Just couldn't find a reference to this design on the internet.
