My deloreans registered Oct 1981, seems it qualifies for tax exempt but not mot exempt , which is at jan 1981.
I’ve been told rules have recently changed which I’ve missed.
When’s a Oct 1981 car mot and tax exempt??.

I don't think they have changed.

From gov uk:
"Vehicles that do not need an MOT

You do not need to get an MOT if:

the vehicle was built or first registered more than 40 years agono ‘substantial changes’ have been made to the vehicle in the last 30 years, for example replacing the chassis, body, axles or engine to change the way the vehicle works

If you’re not sure if there have been any substantial changes you can:

read the full guidance on MOT exemptions for historic vehicles
speak to a historic vehicle expert"

Yours should be mot-exempt once 40-years old, ved-exempt from April 2022.
