Was supposed to drive up the hill yesterday, but the cars not ready, so I went for a visit instead and was well impressed with the variety of motors there. Everything from a MkII FIAT UNO Turbo to a plethora of 1930's Bentleys, a Koenigsegg and Le Man Winning D Type. Sorely underreported event that I am really looking forward to going to again next year and would urge . Didn't take any photos, Any one else go??

I took my Alfa Giulietta Sprint two years ago. Driving up the hill is fun safe in the knowledge that nobody is coming the other way. I would agree that it is an excellent event with a very diverse selection of cars, from the seriously weird to the seriously historic. It's always heavily over subscribed if yo want to drive. Raises a lot of money for charity too. So yes, definitely worth attending! This year we went to the Hampton Court Concours - which is very different but also worthwhile.

We went as well. Fabulous day out. Lovely to see so many varied cars going up the hill. Some tranquil, some not. Fantastic selection of cars in the general car park too. Came across this on the way out:

Very Surrey.

I was there yesterday and have got to say was very impressed with both the organisation and the mix of cars. As my friend summed it up, "This is like the Festival Of Speed if you were allowed to take your own car up the hill,"

That impression was heightened by one of the Mclarens being driven by Kenny Brack! yikes

Good selection of cars, just enough food stalls that you didn't have to queue (although the pricing structure was clearly Goodwood inspired!) & generally a very mellow atmosphere. I did take a few pictures and will try and post them this evening. They probably got a bit lucky with the weather but I will definitely be going back next year.

A few more:

And this lovely Alfa Montreal that had a bit of a contretemps with a hay bale on the way up the hill:

I too thought it a great event - huge diversity of vehicles and nicest weather for a long time. Some driven hard up the hill, others sedately. Surprised to see a brace of X1/9s and an Imp. The burnt-out looking 2CV is a popular regular. Not to mention the 27 lt Merlin-engined special (which failed to sell in the Sothebys auction that day).

And a few more, including an unusual race-prepared Corina (?) and a Capri Lotus:

I went along not knowing what to expect and was pleasantly surprised. A great diverse mix of cars very friendly and well organised.

Corona.

That DS convertible must be very rare.

The Lotus Capri was mentioned in a thread recently - probably not original, but looks cool.

Yes, proper Lotus lump, wider wheels etc. Looked very well engineered. Owner thought there's c. 200 original Capris surviving. I always found them more elegant than the later, common-as-sin, 'thugish' Capris. I imagine few youngsters would now recognise them as a Ford!

Can't believe I missed this. I was entered for the last one that was cancelled. Then the car I entered was written off. It would have been nice to enter again with its replacement.

Ha. Parked next to the Ferrari 330 in the car park. It was beautiful.

We have done it for a couple of years, brilliant event and a cracking mix of cars in a chilled environment. Can be a tyre killer though...

Other than the badly filled door that is superb.
