I owned this 250CE is the mid 90's

That's my godfather at the wheel and it was largely due to his influence that I've run classics all of my life - he was never without something interesting in the 70's from an original 50's Interceptor through to a 60's Mazda 1800 estate that was unfortunately destroyed in a fire. With lots of XJ6 and MK10 Jaguars in-between.

I loved this car - the original maintenance book detailed it's first service as being completed in the cote d'azur and the lady owner living in Chelsea. It was ivory with a chocolate roof and matching hubcaps, dark green leather, an ivory steering wheel, and an electric sunroof - utterly fabulous.

I sold it in 1998 to someone who lived a mile or so away from me in London and I kept track of it for the next few years until sadly it disappeared - I then saw it on eBay in 2004 for sale by the person I sold it to. He had been in hospital for an extended period and unfortunately left the sunroof open which had resulted in the car becoming waterlogged ruining the leather and rotting the floor. It has not been on the road since according the DVLA.

Enjoy your 250C - I still hanker after another, though funnily enough I still have the XJ6 I replaced it with in 1998....

Thanks Dapster - ended it's days in Highgate where no doubt you'd have spotted it had it survived...

The Audi 100 was his - always ahead of the curve - and to the left out of shot was his 1929 mahogany 30ft Broads Sailing Cruiser that he'd owned since the early 70's.

He's now in his 80's and oddly enough running a 90's Mercedes 300CE - I like to think in part due to me...

Very nice - I always used Jacksons of Bournemouth for the 250CE and the subsequent 280SLC I owned - no idea what the availability is like now but I remember being astonished on being able to obtain even the obscurest piece of trim at what I remember was a reasonable cost...

I owned a 71 250CE from 1993-2013 and have owned a 280CE since about 2009. What do you need to know?
