Rover 2000, Austin 1800 or something else?

Picture from the early 1970s. The car on the right is thought to be either a Rover 2000 or Austin 1800. The door handle looks ok for a Rover, but the door is the wrong shape. Handle wrong for the Austin.

Any better ideas?

I can see why you say Rover P6 but the handle doesn't look quite the same and didn't the doors all have a mid waist chrome.e trim?

That looks like an.old sixties white rubber door protector.
I stand to be corrected..

Almost certain that's Rover P6. Austin 1800s have a body colour frame to the window.
Not all P6's have a horizontal chrome trim.

I think the chrome trim was only on later models. Lots of period photos show cars without.

Its a series 1 P6 without the waistline chrome strip.

Definitely Series 1 P6, specifically a 1968 model year onwards (nerdy point - earlier ones didn't have the spring-loaded cover over the lock) and could be a 2000 or a 3500.

Thanks all, almost certainly a P6, 2000, vintage 1969. It was a neighbours car.
