Seen this one? maybe time to bring it back to the UK? its RHD mondial parts, engine longitudinal, aluminium body, not perfect, but I guess its cool-isch this way.

95k euro, not to bad those days.

What a beautiful design the original car was, timeless.
That replica looks good to be fair!

Yeah I was thinking the same, looks miles better than one of those 'Noble' replicas that you see occasionally.

Shame about the V8, a Dino-V6 would have sounded far more like the original V12s cloud9 although at least it is a Ferrari V8 and not a Rover!

What a lovely looking thing, the shape of those 60's racers, GT40, T70 etc were just so right.

Lovely looking thing, the trouble with it would be getting it registered in the UK, if the original chassis had been intact then it would have been possible as it would be considered as just a re-body, with the chassis cut for that rear frame it's putting it into IVA / Q plate territory.

This could explain why it's for sale. It will be nearly impossible to register in a lot of EU countries.

yes

Quite possibly.

Would the last registration being in Jersey help its chances of receiving a registration in the UK?

It would potentially help it avoid a Q-plate if you're able to prove the origin of the donor parts, but it would still need to pass IVA.

I wonder what gearbox it uses, as it's not the original Mondial one?

no idea, but I know the later mondials had their engine also longitudinal mounted, so they used other gearbox then the mondials with transverse engine mounted I guess, but no idea which mondial parts they used.

But then with not that crazy hp they could also use some renault? gearbox with adapter plate or something, which they also use in such sort mid engined replica's.

It doesn't look like the later Mondial/348 gearbox, although there's not really a clear photo showing it, so it could be Renault, Audi or Porsche as the usual choices for such an installation. The Renaults aren't very common these days as they've mostly been used up or scrapped by now, but every breaker in any country probably has a few Audi transaxles.

Does seem odd that the builder didn’t opt for a Mondial T or 348 chassis considering the longitudinal engine layout. It would have been relatively simple to slot this engine and gearbox subframe assembly straight in.

Edit: by the way UK Ferrari dealer David Clarke (Graypaul) had a real P4. He sold it and donated the proceeds to a local children’s charity.
