The other debate on FWd hero’s is which was the better 90’s Italian coupe:

Alfa Romeo GTV 3.0
Fiat Coupe 20v

Personally I’m an Alfa fan, busso and those looks, but counter argument is 20v was a better drivers

You seem a bit obsessed with fwd, I’d actually avoided these cars due to them being fwd (not fitting in the Alfa also put me off)

That is a very tricky choice to make. The 5 cylinder 20v turbo is a cracking car. But a 3.2 V6 Alfa GTV is a lovely thing.

Probably a draw.

So why not get a proper car, like an E36 BMW M3?

Prefer the engine of the Alfa but the styling of the Fiat

Fiat every time for me. I was disappointed with the v6 GTV in comparison. Don't get me wrong, I'd prefer the Busso as a coffee table. ...

As other have said, neither of these would be a go-to unless copious money and garage space had me in "fancy that" mode.

On the premise that it's only a toy amongst toys, and the nicer interior and slightly better refinement of the Alfa are moot under those circumstances, I'd have the Fiat. Its bit more of visual period piece as well, the Alfa is just that much tamer.

got one of each and no idea which i would get rid off if i could keep just one.

fiat has more of a visual impact (apart from the tiny alloys) and is definitely easier to use day on day. the alfa somehow feels more "special" though.

I've never had experience with either, but the bloke down the road owns no less than 2 blue 20V coupe turbo's. I'm a big big fan of the looks and interiors of many Italian sports cars.

Given a choice, gun to my head and handcuffed on threat of bumming, I'd go for the GTV all day long.

I’d be delighted with either.

However I’d probably take the Fiat as it’s got more room and they were available in Yellow.
