In 1955 my dad bought a new Triumph Tiger T110. Annoyingly i came along in 1957 and he had to put a side car on it. So my first years were spent bouncing around in a carrycot in a sidecar.
I never had a pic of this bike (unlike loads of his other bikes) until Boxing Day. Whilst visiting a cousin i hadn't seen for a few years he produced a load of photos of our late fathers. There in two of the pics was my dad with his T110 and the reg.
I did a DVLA check on the bike and was surprised to see it there on a SORN & no MOT history. The last V5C was issued in 2020 and the bike is now red (it should be light blue).
As i still ride i would love to get my hands on this bike.
So my question is to the PH massive, how is the best way of going about this ?

If there is a way of working out roughly where in the country it is it may be worth checking local clubs and shows. Not sure if that’s possible ‘open source’ though.

But good luck with it and do please keep us updated

I have never understood why the DVLA could not offer a paid service to pass on YOUR contact details to the current owner.
There must be thousands of us who would love to know, see, and even buy back so many of our old toys if we knew where they were.

That’s lovely-my father owned a few pre unit Triumphs and actually had a Thunderbird that he was riding in his eighties!! Lovely to potter around on, I’ll own one at some point soon…

Good luck with the search.

I tried to track down my father’s Austin Seven when he was very ill, and joined several clubs to ask around.

Several years after he sadly died, someone co tasted me completely out of the b.ie and said ‘I think I have your father’s car’. It was on a different reg, but he’d found records of the original plate which lead to him finding one of my posts. He’d found a signature inside one of the door trim panels which was clearly my dad’s.

Was an amazing moment. Hope you have the same good fortune.

Great story, hope you find it and at least get to see it if the owner won't sell!
