Think the espada did £110k......I hate selling stuff, I feel oddly invested when I watch him every Sunday
I'd have kept the Espada given he'd only just got the engine sorted, at considerable expense. I think the price reflected condition of the paintwork, which was OK but not great.POORCARDEALER said:
Huge money for that XJC - with the Harry connection I think that was a 60-70k car despite the expenditure
I recall a few jazzed up XJCs trickling onto the market a few years ago with full restos and loads of upgrades with six figure sums poured into them, before the novelty wore off and they struggled to fetch 50k. Someone will take a hell of a bath when they come to sell that one.I was bidding on it but as everyone has pointed out here it just did not make financial sense to pay that much, even in his own videos he says it cost around 65K to build including the car. I could build my own, with a totally restored shell and to my spec for less.
Still a very nice car though!

Even at the estimated price the paint and fit and finish weren’t up to standard. Not a particularly nice car imoStill a very nice car though!
Great to see the lifecycle of ownership here
Purchase> Restoration> Trips & Voayages> Decision to Sell > Listing> Auction> Results.
I also thought it was a sensitive and clever idea to have Tom Lenshall and Ian Tyrrell to follow the auction and discuss with Harry. Tom clearly lining up future jobs and rightly so.
