Hello all.
I have a 1975 1303 beetle with drum brakes on 2 bolt struts.
I've managed to find some disc brake spindles (stub axles) but ive yet to get discs and calipers.
My question is, are stock going to be enough or should I go for better discs and calipers?
I've seen drilled and grooves discs and I know that 2 piston Wilwoods are available but is the cost worth the improvement?
The engine is a 1600 with twin weber and a decent sidewinder exhaust so mildly more than stock power. I might upgrade to a 1776 at a later date.
Thoughts?

Are you running stock wheels and tyres?

Standard 1303S discs and calipers with decent pads will be plenty for a 1600 given how light Bugs are.

Running 15" wheels with 195/65/15 tyres. I'll look at EBC pads with standard calipers probably. I was just seeing if anyone had upgraded and was after their opinion. Thanks for the reply.

No worries. We had a 1303S with similar spec motor lots of years ago FWIW.
