Hi All,

I've a photo taken May 21st, 1955 by The Rising Sun, Hazel Grove.

I think the leading car is possibly a Benz 4½ HP vis-à-vis and the second car is a Renault of some description.

Any thoughts on ID ?

Not a Benz IMHO. Possibly a De Dion Bouton.

The second car could be a Renault or any number of alligator-bonnet cars of that period.

MDMA .

Front one was registered in Cheshire from December 1928-1932 according to the plate. Not that it helps!

Another photo of the lead car:

And from the comments on that photo:

"It is a red & black Progress 1901, 1 cylinder, 8 HP, driven by M E Davenport at the London to Brighton veteran car run. I think 1962 or 1963. Plates changed to M 115"

Not a make I'd ever heard of.

A 1x4 'forward single' plate - pretty rare these days!
