Modern tech and classic car theft.
Discussion
Whilst perusing my Face Book feed earlier today their was a post put up by a local Police force, apparently a chap had been to a classic car show and once home was washing his car and found an Apple tag located on the car (under the bumper I think)
Apparently this is now a thing and a way of targeting classic cars for theft, a warning has been given out, they also mentioned that certain phones can tell you if you are travelling with a tag, so some help if you know how to work your phone.
Isn't technology wonderful ?

Not sure it's a new thing tbh, i remember it being posted about on Ford RS forums / pages years ago, even before the pandemic era.
Only difference now is there's far more widespread availability of the various different tagging / tracking devices around to enable it sadly. Most of which are cheap to buy in bulk via Amazon, Temu, etc, and sent direct from China.

Most phones should do this automatically (if you have bluetooth or whatever turned on).My brother has airtags on his dogs' collars and my phone alerts me that I am being tracked when I take them for a walk.
Don t use FB but definitely not surprised sadly!
I really think we re now at the point of if you own any Classic you should have a Tracker of some kind.
These work very well, easily hideaway and use 4/5G instead of using Bluetooth https://safetagtracking.com/?currency=GBP&lang...
Easy to ring fence when you park up to alarm if moved! Battery lasts 70-80 days from my testing and You get U.K. & Europe with their default subscription.
