Car ID help???

I saw a car a couple of days ago that I did not recognise at all - I'm hoping you lot can identify it from a sketchy description!

My best shot at the is it looked like a cross between a Nissan Figaro, an original mini (but it had a boot) and a Renault 5 turbo (big rear arches and scoops I think - do maybe rear engined)

It was old, and it was in France if that's any help!
