Legendary Vauxhall tuner Bill Blydenstein, the main man behind the success of the Dealer Team Vauxhall Vivas and Firenzas, as well as the rally Chevettes, in the 1970s, passed away on Wednesday.

I had one of his heads on my GT Viva, went like stink!

Respect and peace.

A sad loss. Thoughts with his wife and family.

The world of Vauxhalls will be a poorer place without him. Have a drink with Gerry Bill.

Peace be with you.

Sad indeed. I lived just a few villages away from Shepreth, with a good friend living directly opposite the entrance to Blydenstein's yard - used to see all sorts of hot Chevettes passing in and out; later still Nissans (I think).

This has come as a shock, especially what with the current goings on in the world of Motorsport.

I just read about the passing of the great W B Blydenstein in the list of condolences on Colin McRae's site. Talk about double shock.

Bill's excellent work brought me 16 class wins in 2 years, and a championship class win, multiple lap records, pole positions, and what's more, he was one of the nicest people I have ever met through motorsport.

Bill, Rest in Peace. Have some beer with Gerry, Tony, and Colin.

Rob.
