Beds Classic Car Show, My Pics

had an absolutely fantastic day out at the classic show and air display held on the huge grounds at Shuttleworth collegs today, despite the on/off drizzle there was a tremendous turn out, classics and sports cars of all descriptions and era's everywhere!
as expected there was loads of snapping going by yours truly, i did a circuit round and got to see most of the cars and chat with a few owners too, some real gems to be seen, so please BOOKMARK this if you want to see some tasty rare and just damn sexy classic metal, major image dump happening right now so please bear with me!
i'll start of with some quick snaps of the Sprites and Helaeys,

stunning ice blue/white BN7 Healey 3000, drew a pretty big crowd of admirers!

lovely all original Frogeye and Healey Sprite (Spridget)
next up a look at one this countries more elusive and charismatic car makers...

Love the banded steel wheels on the Frogeye!
Is this show on Monday too? I was at Stanford Hall today but I'd like to pop along tomorrow morning as it's only half an hour from me.

one of Britains more elusive yet charismatic manufacturers, the ultra suave yet rare Bristol,

this is a Blenheim IIRC (?) interesting looking machine, yet quite dull for the amount of money they wanted for one new!

this was a very interesting example! (not sure of the model tho' any Bristol experts care to help me ID it?) ingenious way of concealing the spare wheel, a trick NSU used too IIRC
i saw another interesting Bristol too, an old skool 2 litre coupe, i'll post in a bit
keep checking back for more!

The wheel hidden in the front wing was a common trick on Bristols, I always saw it as a sort of defining characteristic. We used to drive past the showroom a few times a year on the way to visit family and I always remember it. This would have been late sixties and through the seventies.Gretchen said:

the Meserchmitt fly over was hair raising!)

James, if you are free tomorrow, go over to Rushden, great day out, and bargain family ticket (2+2) for £15!
i am going to head down to the riverside tomorrow for the start of that Road Run, you going?
does sound good tho'
loved these,

PS. I love big Healey's too, I nearly bought a Ice Blue over Cream Healey, but plumpted instead for my XK150.
did see this one though,

thats a smashing looking example you nearly bought BTW
last lot for now, rest of the tasty Rovers,

stunning P5's, the white coupe was sublime

love that very early P6, there was a very nice bright red 2000 too, it didn't stay for long though...
this one had to be seen to be believed though!,

P6 Rod, running close to 7 litres and looked the dogs too!

Some stunning photographs there MC- especially like that yellow and black Capri, the white Quattro, the classic Mercs and the blue Mustang ragtop- my uncle had one just like that when I was younger, even as a 4 year old I just shouted 'go faster, more noise!', and it had musical airhorns on it
