Here's a challenge, my colleague is writing a quiz for her parents 40th Wedding do, and needs to know the best selling car of 68, anyone know the answer?

for britain, i'd have a guess at the ADO16, morris/austin/wolseley/MG/etc 1100/1300

Yes, sorry for Britain, yes 1100 was my best guess but not really sure.

Very likely, as it was the UK's best selling car for almost a decade IIRC.

id guess the 1100/1300 range as well.

by 1968 it was selling far more than the mini.

will do some thinking and find the figures out.

If you want a play on words, you could ask what was the best car on sale in 68. Great choice there...

(or how about the European car of the year: the NSU Ro80

Very likely, as it was the UK's best selling car for almost a decade IIRC.
Not sure about '68, but I read in a classic car magazine that the 1100/1300 was 'the best selling car of the 60s' (in the UK).

ever get the feeling fiat own the judging panel? almost every small fiat in the last 40 years has won, then all the recent alfas too

As for your best selling car of '68, I would have took a guess at MGB but I bet I'm way out!

Lol Yep probably so!

As for your best selling car of '68, I would have took a guess at MGB but I bet I'm way out!
I'm sure you're far too young to remember those days Nicola but I do, you couldn't move for 1100/1300s - I even had one a few years later, a 1300GT.
