I didn't even know he was dead.....

Which is a bit remiss, particularly as I spent 10 years bemoning the passing of David Crosby, only to find out last year that he was still (just about) with us.

So, Lynott died about 19 years ago.... About the same time as Keef Richards, then.

Except that Keef gets out of his coffin a couple of times a year to frighten the yoof of today....

Keef's been treated with Linseed oil and shellac, he'll outlast most of us.

Well, he might pass on eventually but he'll maintain a lovely shine.

Phil Lynott is buried a couple of miles from my home town near Dublin (at Sutton graveyard). Quite a few members of my family have been buried there too.

Funnily enough I had the best of Thin Lizzy on in the car on the way to London after the Bournemouth run. I used to hate Thin Lizzy as a child but some of their songs are just epic now I'm older. 'Sarah' is one of my all time faves.

I was quite upset the first time he died, I don't think I could stand it happening again.
