Its just gone too far. My kitchen is a mess, my living room is a mess, in fact.. Everything is a mess!!

Its needs to be sorted and cleaned regular. Now, as i see it there are two solutions

1) Get married : Possibly not in the near future

2) Get a cleaner in every couple of weeks.

Now, 2 obviously seems to be the answer, but i worried about letting a stranger into a house with so many valuables around. There's almost £10K of DVD's alone.

How do people tackle this? How do you find someone reputable?

Wots your address!?!

Get a pensioner to do it or something. Cheap labour and enthusiasm.

...Or is someone with a more sturdy ticker needed?! haha.

molly maid do the cleaning in my places not fit though...OTOH that could be a bonus for you - you won't get tempted!

Edit: having thought this through, it could well be possible that the employees of molly maid in the south are fit, in which case, win/win situation!

oh yes, and I have to point out that getting married wil NOT solve the mess. It will double it.

I live on my own and my house is spotless. Once it's done, it takes very little effort to keep it that way. The only bit I dont like is the ironing

Is it expensive Greg?

I'm a messy pig.
I've been trying to sort my life out. I'm going to try to keep my new cottage tidy and clean and as has been reflected already I think once you keep on top of it it shouldn't be that much effort.

I've been trying to get this place in a fit state for the last month or so- ready for a sale and it's proven so difficult.
Over X-mas I couldn't bring my lady friend here at all and we stayed in London and a hotel near by!
