The Great Outdoors. If she likes that sort of thing remotely and you can demonstrate some competence at it.

Snigger.

Seriously: Walking somewhere beautiful gives you lots of time together to talk. The scenery gets you in romantic mood etc etc. Of course - if her idea of a good time is remaining warm and indoors then you'll need to spend...

Try National Trust properties - very inexpensive. The GF will think you're a little cultural as well.

Also, it's a decent day out if you pick the right place!

Here's a suggestion.

A donkey punch!

donkey punch n.

To knock your partner out cold while approaching the Billy Mill roundaboutabout (qv) from Bourneville boulevard (qv). This is said to have the same aphrodisiacal effect as slam-ming a goose's neck in a drawer whilst committing bestiality. Don't try either.

Definition.

Let's try, anyway...

Dine her

Take her to places of interest to her / surprise her with destinations linked to her interests

Theatre and Cinema

try "lastminute.com" and the like for IDEAS ('cos they're usually at premium prices)

for someone interested in TV get free tickets to recordings of things

look at your local area through the eyes of a tourist and find things that you haven't actually noticed for a while

...

Any good?

The best way to impress a girlfriend is to understand her likes and dislikes.

It's often the little things that count.

Annual membership doesn't cost much and thereafter all the visits are free. Another benefit is that these places all need to be driven to.

Hence an excuse to use the car!

Perfect!

Have you tried cooking for her? Not just getting in a takeaway, but actually cooking something? Could be a plan.

Rob.

Seriously,

Drive up to North Yorkshire and go and find some fossils. That was a good one of mine. Impressed the bird no end, the absolute cracker was finding a more or less complete turtle skeleton above Staithes. Find some quality cafe and have a nice salad.

I swear, that is the best thing to do, also luck plays a massive part, if you go to Boggle Hole, at low tide there are some pyritised ammonites which you can collect. She would be well impressed. (If she's that sort of bird).

Works wonders, I swear.

Take her to an aviation museum followerd by a racing car museum. Then make her sit down and watch the entire 2004 F1 season on tape. Then go down the pub with your mates and talk football, politics and general "blokey" talk all night.

This is my technique for romancing a female. Works every time - if you want to be on your own.
