I noticed that my local airport is now doing Squeezy Jet cheapos to Rome. On the pretext of a romantic weekend I feel this would be an excellent opportunity to "accidentally" stumble across the Mille Miglia as it passes through. Unfortunately I am not well travelled in Italy since my sixth form skiing trip.

Is there a good vantage point within the capital, or is it better to travel outside and see it in the surrounding country. Any advice or links to other threads/websites would be appreciated. I tried doing a search on these forums but the site is at a crawl at the moment.

Cheers
Mark

I've got a feeling the Mille Miglia doesn't go anywhere near Rome? It does go past Brescia though, not quite as romantic, but the budget airlines go there.

Starts at Brescia, turns around in Rome, then back to Brescia! And my little local "Jimbo and the Jetset" airport doesn't go to Brescia.

Well I was half right...I knew it went to Brescia!

I got flights to Brescia for <£40 when I picked up my 208.

Think it was Ryanair?

I'd love to fly to Italy in a Junker Ju52. Unfortunately, Lufthansa don't do direct flights from England to Italy.

Think yourself lucky.

Such a flight would shake your nuts off....
