depends how much you want to spend, b&b italia, pricey, Bo Concept cheaper, some quite contemporary stuff at places like ikea. Take a look at www.thisisfurniture.com (or maybe .co.uk) for inspiration. Have fun.

Very good sites good prices for the glass coffe tables £99 - same sort of thing in the shops ~£300. What's the quality like?

Buy quality antique furniture. It never goes out of fashion and it will retain it's price in the long run. It's also much better made than contemporary furniture.

Vested interest?

Moi?

Try www.isysfurniture.co.uk/

I bought a dining table and chairs from them and they are absolutely fab and have generated much admiration.

This is from Ikea, very solid as the TV has now been swapped for a 32inch wide screen. It comes in bits so you could just get the bit underneath the TV which has four holes for Sky, vid, DVD etc
Comes in different colours, this is beech

Try someone like Atacama or Optimum for a custom made stand.

www.hifibitz.co.uk should be a good start point.. look under furniture...

The best flatpack furniture I have got is from Ikea.

Solid, easy to put together and surprising cheap.
I bought a low table for a widescreen tv.

thanks for the replies peps, im still not having much luck. I wont something around 30cm high and most units are 40-50. This could end up been more stressfull than buying the house.

Theres a new furniture shop in Cross in Hand, just north of Heathfield, which does some lovely stuff.

We have just ordered some bedroom furniture from there. Apparently its a comprimise as my wife wanted fitted and I wanted standalone.

This stand alone furniture is apparently a compromise. Not sure how but there we are.

Anyway this post is only any use if you are in east sussex or West Kent!

how about this if you dont put the legs on & put it flat on the floor ?

Thank You that could be a good idea. Might put some little legs on it.

Ive got this picture in my head of exactly what i want but cant find it. I think that one is closest.

As you are not far away, we could make you exactly what you want. The new range in of contempory style and yet to feature in the catalogue, but check www.rwfco.com for details. Oak, Ash or Cherry and clear oil to very dark stain.
