Went to Burger King today for lunch and parked on a slight slope. Since I don't trust my parking brake I left it in first gear just in case (which I normally don't do). When I went to start it I forgot to check it and it lurched right in front of some Burger King people talking.

Any embarrassing moments in your car?

Got my arm stuck in the steering wheel once

Also i left it in gear by accident and whilst the mechanic was looking in the engine, he told me to start it, so i did.
He moved very quickly

Took this girl from the village surfing, she was nice, she was really REALLY NICE, anyway it was completely innocent. After we had de-wetsuited ourselves, we got in the car only she didn't put anything on over her most skimpy underwear. Damn she looked good. It was also semi see through. I thought NOOOOOOOOOOOO! I didn't know what to do, I had a loose set of trousers on and I felt myself lose control of my biology.

It was a case of "I'm so sorry, it's got a mind of its own".

I probably missed a golden opportunity. Thankfully that was burned into the non vollatile section of my memory.

Stalled the Cerbera right infront of a geering crowd. Also crashed a Transit into a Tank, yes a Tank with a bloody great gun on it, T58 rings a bell.

My BMW's got one of those bleeper things that tell you how close you are to something when you're reversing. My wife's car hasn't.

I was reversing the wife's car onto my drive a few months ago - in full view of my neighbour's teenage kids. Not thinking, I was waiting for the 'bleep' - which of course didn't happen. Suddenly BANG. I'd reversed wy wife's car right into my own car and damaged them both. The kids next door thought it was hillarious. (Fortunately the TIV was in the garage).

Why the problem? Not PH-ed enough? Can't fault a rock-solid, room for 4, Sven-sled. No wonder your folks are questioning your move to the Corrado. VR6, huh? Are the Euro-spec cars supercharged? Many here are.

Congrats,

Dave

My Volvo is ace! It is the cheapest, most reliable car that I have ever run. And it is suprisingly rust free, save for a couple of break outs on one of the doors. My father has now decided that it is a very bad idea for me to get a Corrado. He has started doing his own research and we had a 'chat' the other night. He has discovered how knickable their bits are.

The European market did indeed have a supercharged model. That was the G60. Apart from that, there was the 8V 2 litre, 16V 2 litre models and the 2.9 VR6. (I'm pretty sure that there was a 16V 1.8 litre model too.)

On topic this time:

Finished a brake job on my 200 SX and had to move the car 4 ft back to clear the side door in the garage. Without starting the car, I kick the last chock out of the way and start to push the car back. I had never noticed the slight pitch to my garage before, and as the car moved back towards the street, it gained speed down my drive. "Aha", says I, leaning through the window, "I'll just pull the handbrake and stop this right now."

Now, since to do the brakes on this car you have to wind the pucks in to get the clearance to install new pads and I had not started the car to pump up the brakes, the handbrake did nothing.

Sailed straight down the drive, across the street to come slowly to a stop in my neighbors drive with my feet dangling from the drivers window the whole way.

My neighbor spilled his beer from laughing.

I didn't see what was so funny.

Bloody hell. Been with a girl in my old mans car. In my haste to get it home I forgot to put my trousers, er, and my pants on. Girlfriend at the time didn't have much on either.

Guess who got stopped by the Old Bill that night, one of only two times in my life? Yup.

Look on the coppers face as he leant in the window was class though

All we got Stateside was the 1.8L, 8 valve 4 cyl., 158hp G60 or a 2.8L, 178hp VR6. Even now, the G60's are still selling for $10-14K for good, clean cars in CA.

Do you have the car picked out and waiting to do a deal, or are you set on the model and are looking for a car?
