Someone sent me this picture allegedly taken by a Kellog employee (why that would add to its veracity I know not). Personally I thinks it's fake. What say the PH collective?

My guess... a fake.

The sea looks awfully pixelated compared to the rest of the pic. Like it's been enlarged too much...

Fake, that one wave would have to be 100ft!

Wanna buy a watch from me, it's a Rolex, but you can have it for £100 instead of £6000.

Fake as Jordans knockers.

Did anyone come across this story today that during the day of the Tsunami no animals were killed because they all legged it and primitive local tribes took to the high ground hours before the wave hit.

Absolutely fascinating.

The wave looks like it's been grabbed from the intro to Hawaii-5-O.

the other thing to ask is - are there any buildings that high on the sea front where the wave hit worst (Thailand / Sri Lanka). Not anymore at any rate

If you assume that the brown and cream building in the fore ground is 20 stories (approx 550 - 575 ft high) the wave seems as high as if not higher than that.

There has been no mention of waves being that high, therefore it's a fake.

This is so obviously a fake that I am amazed there is any discussion at all.

Looks like an amalgam of the cover of Day After Tomorrow to me...

If that was real that would have been on the front cover of every newspaper across the globe.

It's already been debunked by Snopes.

See this page

However, Snopes lists this one as being genuine.

Also, when a tsunami is approaching the shore, the water draws back from the shore, there's water going over the road in the shot, you wouldn't get waves in front of a tsunami when it's that close to the shore because all the water would have been drawn back into the large wave.

Yes those hovels on the left I think are actually in Hornsey.
