Should have asked the RAF the way to Trondheim. They Know!!
12th Nov.1944 a flight of Lancasters from Nos.9 & 627 Squadron managed to find their way there carrying some pretty heavy baggage. Flew there direct from Lossiemouth in Scotland and managed to sink the German battleship "Tirpitz" before returning.
GF's father won DFC for his part in the attack. Hero!
