Tear the pages in half and you have 100 pieces of scrap paper to write notes on. Always handy!

I can sympathise. When computers were on the horizon manufactuers proclaimed paper had had its day, and our forests saved. I think I use more A4 sheets now than I did on the old typewriter. Changes are much easier to make, of course, but there's not been any reduction in paper use.

slightly off thread: my theory for what its worth is that with the introduction of tip-ex type correction fluid, the paper mill owners got scared that the market would slump, they therefore invented the PC, in a very crafty way that made it look like IBM had created this milestone device, the simple exercise of gifting a number of shares in the mills to a certain Billy Bob Gates guaranteed the continued demand for paper, and then some.

You could just set your dictionary to "english" english as opposed to "US" english.

Not sure if this is a serious thread but both my boys have ADHD. They say the father is the carryer. I had a lot of problems when i was younger without the benefit of medication or diagnosis but i seem to have sorted it myself.
Often, still; I have trouble with stuff that involves responsibility. typically understanding complicated bills and letters. There used to be a time when i was frightened to open bills etc. It was like everything on the page would just glare at me and i would have to read every line several times to understand it.
Still, i'm much better now...honest
I think there is a lot to be said for self medicating in milder cases. I just wish my boys mother wasn't so keen to shove Rittalin down their throats all the time.
