(the 2002 George Clooney film)

Finally got round to watching it this afternoon - the DVD has been sat on the shelf for ages.

And...

(That's not to say I didn't enjoy it though)

I thought all of that - and still concluded that it was very, very poor.

It failed to capture my imagination and I dropped off watching it first time and couldn't manage to finish it the second time around - I just didn't care enough to watch it through to it's conclusion.

Tried too hard IMO

Have you guys seen the original? (Russian I believe...)

The 2002 version was reasonably true to it, I thought.

I actually found it gripping.

There again...I liked Sex, Lies and Videotape...

The original is very very good, and so unexpected considering it came out of the Soviet Union in the early seventies. The sets and effects are very good, more realism to the hardware than 2001 and way in advance of Star Wars.

Thye remake was pants, as usual.

Don't knock that film - its got Natasha McElhone in it.

A luminous, gorgeous individual if ever there was one. I 've actually met her....
