Once you've picked up the peasant, the question is what to do?

Well I think a nice casserole is called for: onions, garlic, celery I should think. If I had cider I'd add that too.

Wonder how long it needs to cook for? Whatcha reckon?

Traditionaly hung for ages but far too rich for me if it's done like that, gut it immediately, and roast it

ti does dry out quickly so some fruit up it's 'arris and some bacon over the top my be advisable (i use segments of lemon and apple)

Blimey that were quick! I guess, Norbert, you have good quality island game at "knock down" prices with your two motors

I'll try not to spend to long on the beaver section!

Easy to tell apart, they are the smelly ones.

Game has got to be hung, otherwise you may as well eat prepacked chicken, for taste.

The hillbillies out here eat everything that moves.

If you ever pick up roadkill you need to "clean" it *immediately* to avoid contamination of the meat by the innards - sure to have been ruptured by the internal injury.

And only collect roadkill you killed yourself...

Sorry, everyone, serious point in a humourous thread...I'll get me coat now...

Personally I like my pheasant hot-roasted.

Take your freshly cleaned pheasant, wash and pat dry. Take a non-stick pan and heat until hot. Whilst pan heating pre-heat oven until very hot.

Then dry fry the pheasant to brown it all over. I like to through garlic salt and thyme into the pan so it coats the pheasant at this point.

Then transfer the pheasant to the HOT oven. Twenty minutes later it'll be done. And you'll need steak knives to eat it....but it should still be moist and (relatively) tender...

I've got some video - I was filming for an IAM instructional vid to go in our "Better Driving Course" when a pheasant kamikazed into my windscreen...

"Blimey!" - quoth I.

I'll post it up tonight....

Thats Illegal if its a Pheasant, you can only pick up roadkill that you find dead in the road.

I fear that vixpy1 is correct on this point

Just means you have to drive round the block (quick - before someone else gets there!) so that you're technically second on the scene...

Ah yes. As Beano says - this is technically correct.

But who's watching, eh?

Surely you would find it dead in the road... After you've hit it
