Just wondered if any PHer's have had strange experinces with dogs in their cars.

A friend once shut the dog in the boot then the phone rang and she left it there all night.

We once got next door's dog locked in the garage for 2 nights. It followed the car in and we didn't need it again. The neighbours went round the whole neighbourhood knocking on doors trying to find it as well!

I had a 3 legged dog (1 front leg) run up to me, I laughed hysterically and it sank it's teeth into my leg.

Moral:- Don't laugh a 3 legged dog.

We have some friends who used to have a little Dachsund named Harvey, that they accidentally left behind at our house once, and must've driven away for an hour before realising they didn't have their little friend in the car.

These were the days before mobiles, so my Mum was already heading out to buy some dog food by the time they realised and came back.

My parents' friends agreed to look after a chiuahua (sp but too lazy) while it's owners went away on holiday. As it was such a small dog, they didn't think that it would hurt their cat. They were right - came down in the morning to find that the cat had killed and eaten the dog....

I sat at work one day and was disturbed by my desk phone ringing. I answered the phone and could hear some sort of heavy breathing and rustling type sounds...

I was quite bewildered so carried on listening for a couple of minutes. It became apparent that what I was hearing was the systematic destruction of everything I had left on the dining table at home by my two lurcher pups! The little sods had realised they could jump on the table in the kitchen and see out of the window. Whilst destroying what they could find they managed to knock the phone off the hook and by some miracle hit the 'Last number redial' which my mrs had used a day or so previously...
